Nomination of Mr. Nick Adams as the new US ambassador to Malaysia

Press Statement by BDS Malaysia

We note the recent announcement by United States President Donald Trump to nominate Mr. Nick Adams as the new US ambassador to Malaysia to replace the current ambassador, Edgard D. Kagan.

Mr. Nick Adams is a strong supporter of the Zionist regime that is currently committing the crime of genocide in Gaza. He publicly announced his pride in successfully pressuring a restaurant in the United States to fire a waitress simply because she was wearing a ‘Free Palestine’ pin.

Based on his negative comments regarding people whom he perceived as supporters of Islam and his opposition to purported efforts to “teach Islam in schools”, he is also clearly Islamophobic.

Therefore, we call upon the Malaysian government to reject his posting to Malaysia should the US Senate confirm his nomination.
