MEDIA STATEMENT FROM MALAYSIAN NGOS

Boycott the UAE Over Its Support For Genocide and Other Crimes Against Humanity

We, the undersigned, issue this firm condemnation of the United Arab Emirates for its active political and economic normalisation with Israel, most notably through the Abraham Accords, and its other actions which irrefutably signify that the UAE is part of the Zionist network complicit in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

We specifically condemn:

The Abraham Accords: This agreement, framed as “peace,” was achieved without any meaningful progress toward ending the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories or securing fundamental Palestinian rights. It normalised the oppressor while the oppression and genocide continue.

Economic & Strategic Partnerships: The extensive bilateral trade, investment funds, and joint ventures directly strengthen the Israeli economy and its military-industrial complex. The UAE secretly signed a $2.3 billion arms deal with notorious Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems in November 2025. And despite the unrelenting slaughter of their fellow Arabs in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially Gaza, by Israel, the UAE has continued to maintain and even enhance economic ties with the genocidal Zionist state.

Diplomatic Cover: The UAE’s regional diplomacy, in coordination with Israel, often seeks to marginalise the Palestinian cause in favour of other geopolitical interests.

Complicity in Sudan’s Civil War: Sudan has submitted to the International Criminal Court that the UAE fuels the rebellion and supports the militia, the Rapid Support Force (RSF), that has committed the crime of genocide in West Darfur. United Nations officials monitoring the arms embargo on Darfur have described accusations of the UAE smuggling weapons to the RSF through Chad as credible.

The UAE Funds Islamophobia: A document published in July 2023 by the European Union parliament reveals that the UAE has been funding a campaign of Islamophobia in Europe and elsewhere. Far-right and racist European individuals are being paid by the UAE for their anti-Islam and anti-Muslim activities.

It is totally revolting to witness that just when humanity in its millions the world over is expressing its outrage and disgust over the crime against humanity taking place in Gaza and waking up to the mercenarial nature of the Islamophobia in the West, the UAE is intent on being on the wrong side of history by fuelling a genocide and financing the victimisation of its fellow Arabs and Muslims. Clearly, the autocratic regime in the UAE sees its survival as dependent on pleasing the same empire that is propping up the apartheid settler-colony of Israel. The time has come to include the UAE in the campaign by people of conscience to isolate and pressure the Zionist state.

We, the undersigned, stand in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle for freedom, dignity and return.

We therefore call on and urge all our fellow citizens and people of conscience to boycott from today onwards the UAE, all its companies, organisations and entities connected to it in order to pressure the regime to end its complicity in the Gaza genocide and Israeli crimes against humanity that are taking place.
