Israeli Apartheid Week : Radiance of Resistance Screening

Israel has imposed a system of apartheid on the entire Palestinian people.

Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is an international series of events that seek to raise awareness of Israel’s apartheid policies and to build support for the growing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and 2018 marks 70 years of Palestinian popular resistance against the ongoing process of dispossession and ethnic cleansing, since the 1948 Nakba.

With similar sinister undertones to South Africa’s apartheid regime, Israel has implemented a system of arresting and mistreating Palestinian minors, highlighted by the recent imprisonment of 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi, who stood up against the Zionist soldiers storming her home.

Please join Viva Palestina MalaysiaBoycott Divestment & Sanctions Malaysia – BDS Malaysia, and Malaysia Muda at the screening of Radiance of Résistance تألق المقاومة, a film that was banned in Singapore, about Ahed and her cousin Janna Ayyad, two beacons of Palestinian resistance, followed by a discussion with former Palestinian detainee, Ahmad AlNajjar on “Ahed Tamimi and the role of youth in the resistance against the Israeli occupation.”

Norma Hashim’s book “Dreaming of Freedom: Palestinian Child Prisoners Speak” published by Gerakbudaya will be available at the screening.

Palestinian refreshments will be served.
